The Village at Bloomfield

Site Plan to date for Commercial Development at The Village at Bloomfield

The new Village at Bloomfield is being developed on the former site of Bloomfield Park located at Telegraph Road just north of Square Lake Road in both Pontiac and Bloomfield Township. In the summer of 2016, NFE provided land surveying services for the commercial and residential development, and is currently providing civil engineering services for the site, including demolition plans, site plans, construction plans, landscape plans and tree survey. NFE is not new to the site as we provided both professional land surveying and civil engineering services to the former Bloomfield Park.

Bloomfield Park was going to be an upscale, mixed-use development on 87 acres residing in both Pontiac and Bloomfield Township. Construction on the development began in late 2006, and in November 2008 due to financial difficulties and the recession, construction was halted at the half-completed, 8-building complex. In 2014, Southfield-based REDICO and California-based Pacific Coast Capital Partners purchased the site and began to develop the Village at Bloomfield.

The Village at Bloomfield could feature up to 500,000 square feet of retail and commercial space, with the possibility of a hotel, movie theater, fitness club, apartments and senior center. NFE is currently working on construction plans for a new two-story Menards store on the north side of the property. Site plans for Menards have been recently submitted to the City of Pontiac and Bloomfield Township for approval. On the demolition side, only a parking deck and small commercial building will be saved and reused from the former Bloomfield Park. Most of the other buildings had too much weather damage.

Demolition of the site started in June and new construction of the Menards store could start as soon as spring 2018 with other retail and commercial development soon following. NFE is proud to help communities in developing abandoned sites into useful, attractive developments.
